These are a few of the finished squares:

We are putting out the call to all groups to create gift baskets for this year’s convention raffle. These baskets have been a big hit at previous conventions with the funds going towards paying bills and for seed money for next year’s convention.
How your group can help:
1. Think of a theme for
your basket to tie it all together.
For example:
- Spa/relaxation (candles, lotions, bath salts)
- Pets (dog, cat, etc)
- Book lovers
- Cooking (cookbook, recipes, spices, utensils)
- One for the guys
- Chocolate/coffee/tea lovers
- Sports (general or a specific sport or team)
- Autumn – pumpkins/apples/Halloween
2. Collect items - One idea is to keep a box at your meetings and
members can bring items to the meeting.
3. Remember: KEEP IT
SIMPLE! You don’t need to buy extravagant items.
4. Be creative – re-gift
something that you couldn’t use.
5. Assemble your basket. Again reuse! Find a basket you
don’t use anymore to fill with your items. Please include
one Al-Anon program item, such as an Al-Anon book or an issue of The
Forum. Wrap the whole basket in cellophane to keep the items from
falling out. Be sure to identify the group who created the
basket – the winner will be pleased to know.
6. What to do when you are finished: Please bring the completed
baskets with you to the convention registration table on Friday Oct 8th
or early on Saturday Oct 9th. The winners will be announced after
the quilt raffle on Saturday night.
