"Al-Anon's World Service
Conference (WSC), established in 1961, set up a process to make sure
that Al-Anon literature accurately expresses Al-Anon policies and
perspective. Literature bearing the Al-Anon seal and the words,
"Approved by World Service Conference Al-Anon Family Groups" has been
designated "Conference Approved
Literature" (CAL) by the WSC and has been through a rigorous committee
review proccess. It was also examined for adherence to Al-Anon's
Traditions and policies. Literature bearing this seal was written by
Al-Anon members, approved by Al-Anon members, is for Al-Anon members,
and is written from the Al-Anon point of view. "

Writing for The Forum gives you the privacy and
safety to take a close
look at the really difficult issues we face in dealing with the effects
of alcohol.
Intimacy problems, abuse, anxiety, and crises of faith are among the
personal challenges that we
face day-to-day as Al‐Anon members. As we share, we learn about
ourselves and realize that
we are not alone.
It takes courage to write with complete
honesty—but finding
that courage is a step forward toward recovery, for you as well as for
those who read your sharing.

Please send your story that tells how a
particular piece of
literature—or portion of that piece—helped you with your recovery.
Focus on what this piece has meant to
you rather than on the content of the piece itself. Please limit

"Tracing Our Growth"
Following a motion from the 2008 World Service
Conference, the WSO is preparing a book about Al-Anon’s history,
TRACING OUR GROWTH (working title). The book
will tell Al-Anon’s story from the perspective of Al-Anon members,
including
those whose personal progress involved working in Al-Anon service on
the challenging issues
of their day.
Please share your recollections about the events
you have witnessed since you joined Al-Anon—and what you learned from
the experience. Your sharing could
include the founding of Alateen, the first Conference, the creation of
Conference
Approved Literature, the influx of adult children of alcoholics, the
relocation of the WSO,
the introduction of the Alateen safety requirements, or many other
events and achievements.
